Description

Precision resistance thermometer with thin metal sheath and extra-small ceramic sensing resistor. This eXacal thermometer was developed to determine radial and vertical temperature profiles.

This eXacal thermometer was developed to determine vertical and radial temperature profiles at calibration facilities as part of the measurement uncertainty.

This is required in several guidelines, e.g. DKD-R 5-4 “Calibration of block calibrators”, DKD-R 5-3 “Calibration of thermocouples” or DKD-R 5-1 “Calibration of resistance thermometers”. The thermometer is also suitable for measuring and adjusting heating zones in calibration furnaces. Of course, the thermometer can also be used generally for accurate temperature measurement.

Calibration

eXacal thermometers are calibrated in our in-house DAkkS calibration laboratory. DAkkS accreditation ensures that all calibrations are traceable to national and international standards.

The Pt100 M precision thermometers have been designed so that they can be calibrated very well at temperature fixed points. The measurement uncertainty is calculated from many components. The largest contributions to the uncertainty budget are the reproducibility of the thermometer, ITS-90 deviation function, self-heating, and hysteresis of the temperature sensor. Using the parameters from the calibration certificate, the Pt100 M precision thermometer can be used with the respective deviation function in the temperature range from -38 °C to 230 °C.
