Measuring resistors from Klasmeier
Precision down to the smallest detail

In the world of thermometry, the precision of the measuring resistor is a decisive factor for the accuracy and reliability of a thermometer. As specialists in precision temperature measurement, our thermometer manufactory is one of the few global manufacturers that develops and produces temperature measuring resistors in-house – a hallmark that sets us apart and underlines our commitment to the highest quality and custom-made solutions.

The eXacal measuring resistors represent our expertise and our focus on high-precision temperature measurements, aligned
with the International Temperature Scale of 1990 (ITS-90), and independent of the conventional DIN EN 60751 standard. With a
temperature range from -200°C to 670°C, we cover the relevant calibration ranges of the ITS-90, from the temperature fixed points
argon to aluminum.

Our eXacal measuring resistors
stand for:

Maximum stability
Excellent reproducibility
Low self-heating
Low hysteresis
Compliance with the requirements of ITS-90

Measuring resistors and thermometer manufactory: A symbiosis for precision

The connection between the production of measuring resistors and thermometers allows us to offer a wide range of precision thermometers:

Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometers (SPRT)
Secondary PRT
Industrial reference PRT and RTD

The production of temperature measuring resistors is a work of art in itself…

…a highly complex, delicate process in which high-purity platinum wire is manually threaded onto a carrier body, for example made of ceramic or quartz, under a microscope. Before threading, the platinum wire must be wound into a coil using a specially designed winding machine.

These highly sensitive measuring resistors, which must be protected from environmental influences, are assembled in our thermometer manufactory and further processed into precision thermometers.

Our measuring resistors are particularly characterized by compliance with the ITS-90 criteria. These are the requirements that a thermometer must meet to be designated as a “Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer (SPRT)” according to ITS-90.

The temperature coefficient (TC), or alpha value, is not considered according to DIN EN 60751, but is represented as a so-called W-value, where eXacal measuring resistors meet the requirement of W-gallium ≥ 1.11807.

Advantages of eXacal measuring resistors

Quality and control from a single source

Our customers benefit from the combination of thermometer manufacturing and the production of our own measuring resistors. Through control over every aspect – from design to manufacturing and the final DAkkS calibration (according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025) – we can offer tailor-made solutions and react quickly to customer inquiries.

As a family-owned company, we are not dependent on external influences. This allows us to act independently and focus entirely on the requirements and needs of our customers.
