Resistance thermometers and thermocouples

eXacal precision thermometers are used for precise temperature measurements or as calibration standards. They have been continuously optimised over many years in our thermometer manufactory to ensure maximum measurement accuracy. The various eXacal thermometers can be used in a wide range of applications across a temperature range from -200°C to 1200°C.
Our eXacal resistance thermometers are a robust alternative to the extremely sensitive ITS-90 standard platinum resistance thermometers (SPRTs). The eXacal thermocouples, made of platinum, are available with or without a stainless-steel reference junction.

Robust secondary SPRT reference thermometer for the most accurate temperature measurements

Our SPRTs (standard platinum resistance thermometers) serve as calibration standards in precision temperature measurement and for accurate temperature measurement in demanding applications. Developed to meet the needs of research, industry and quality assurance, these thermometers offer excellent accuracy and reliability. The SPRTs (standard platinum resistance thermometers) meet the requirements of ITS-90.

Precision thermometers

Our precision thermometers are ideal as temperature standards for calibrations or for accurate temperature measurements. Available as resistance thermometers (Pt100) and as precious-metal thermocouples of types R/S/B, Pt/Pd and Pt/Au. Our eXacal resistance thermometers are a robust alternative to the extremely sensitive ITS-90 standard platinum resistance thermometers (SPRTs). The eXacal thermocouples are manufactured with a stainless-steel reference junction.

Industrial reference thermometers

Industrial reference thermometers (Pt100 and precious-metal thermocouples) are ideal for industrial use in traceable temperature measurements or as secondary standards for industrial calibrations (for example in a temperature block calibrator).

Custom designs: We also manufacture precision thermometers to your individual requirements, for example differential thermometers, angled temperature probes and thermometers to specific customer specifications.

Immersion thermometers

eXacal immersion thermometers (platinum resistance thermometers) are temperature sensors designed for extreme environments in which both the transition point and the leads must withstand temperatures across the entire temperature range of the temperature sensor. These immersion thermometers can be used in various applications, including the calibration of sensors in laboratory refrigerators, autoclaves, ovens, stability test chambers and incubators. They can be fully immersed in liquids or dry media.

Thermometer manufactory – handcrafted precision thermometers

Our eXacal precision thermometers are handcrafted in our manufactory in Fulda, Germany. They are specifically designed for precise temperature measurements from -200°C to 1200°C. Our expertise goes beyond the product: we also develop specialised tools and manufacturing processes. From design through to final accredited calibration in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 (DAkkS), we are completely independent of external suppliers, ensuring the high quality of our thermometers.

Calibration of eXacal thermometers

eXacal thermometers are calibrated in our own
DAkkS calibration laboratory.

The eXacal precision thermometers are calibrated at ITS-90 temperature fixed points from the argon triple point to the silver freezing point, with excellent measurement uncertainties.

Alternatively, eXacal thermometers can also be calibrated using the comparison method.

The eXacal precision thermometers have been developed from the ground up. Every component has been designed with the utmost care and perfectly matched to the others.

A key highlight is the innovative handle, which serves as the central technology platform. Thanks to its modular design, it enables a wide variety of eXacal thermometer combinations.
