Description

Platinum / palladium thermocouples (Pt/Pd) are the most precise thermocouples manufactured at the eXacal facility.
Temperature range: 0 °C to 1500 °C
Strain-compensating design
The design of the measuring point allows for strain-free expansion of the thermocouple wires.
Excellent inhomogeneity
The high purity of 99.99% and the thermal pretreatment of the thermocouple wires ensure excellent inhomogeneity.
Small measurement uncertainty and low drift
The achievable measurement uncertainties are approximately a factor of 2 better than with Type R/S thermocouples.

Pt/Pd thermocouples can be used in the temperature range from 0 °C to 1500 °C with very small measurement uncertainties. A special feature of this thermocouple is the strain-compensating junction of the thermocouple wires. This special design ensures strain-free expansion of the platinum and palladium thermocouple wires. The different thermal expansion coefficients of the two wires are thus balanced without mechanical stress changing the Seebeck coefficient.

Matching Connectors and Cases
The standard version of the thermometers is delivered with gold-plated banana plugs. However, the connectors listed below or custom connectors can also be installed. Each thermometer is delivered in a matching case. A high-quality wooden carrying case can be ordered as an option.
