Scope of Services:

  • Accredited calibration according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 (DAkkS) at 5 calibration points, in standard distribution or according to your specifications.
  • Calibration certificate with documented calibration results and information on measurement deviation and measurement uncertainty.
  • For ISOTECH devices, controller adjustment is possible after technical inspection and your approval.

Alternative: Individual Calibration Points

If you require an individual number of calibration points, we calculate modularly. The costs are composed as follows:

  • Base Cost: €505.00

Technical Requirements for Calibration According to DKD-R 5-4

For a standard-compliant calibration, the technical requirements defined in DKD-R 5-4 must be met.

Immersion Depth: The immersion depth of the thermometer must be at least 15 times its outer diameter.
Borehole and Thermal Contact: The borehole in the calibration insert must fit the thermometer: The inner diameter may be a maximum of 0.5 mm larger than the outer diameter of the thermometer up to 660 °C, and a maximum of 1.0 mm larger above 660 °C. Alternatively, equally good or better thermal contact can be achieved through suitable heat transfer media.
Measurement Zone: The temperature block calibrator must have a specified measurement zone of at least 40 mm in length with sufficient temperature homogeneity.

The Calibration Process: Transparent, Structured, Standard-Compliant

Calibration in our laboratory takes 5 business days.

  • Step 1: Goods Receipt and Device Acceptance
As soon as your device arrives, we unpack it and check for visible defects or transport damage. If we notice anything, we will contact you before proceeding. We then register your block calibrator in our system under a calibration number.
  • Step 2: Preparation in the Calibration Laboratory
Before starting the calibration, we check the laboratory conditions. Then we set up the block calibrator, connect it, and insert the reference thermometer into the block.
  • Step 3: Performing the Calibration
We connect the reference thermometer and record the measurement values – either via software or manually, depending on the device. We approach the target temperatures first ascending and then descending to determine the hysteresis error.
  • Step 4: Evaluation, Measurement Uncertainty, and Calibration Certificate
The measurement values are evaluated, and the measurement uncertainty is calculated according to EA-4/02 M. We prepare the measurement uncertainty budget according to DKD-R 5-4 and record the results in the calibration certificate.
  • Step 5: Post-processing and Return Shipment
After calibration, we label your device and attach a calibration mark with a QR code. This code allows you to access your calibration documents anytime in the Klasmeier Cloud. We then securely package the block calibrator and send it back to you.

Klasmeier Cloud Digital Archive:
Calibration Documents Quickly and Easily Accessible

The Klasmeier Cloud – the perfect filing system for all calibration documents. On all devices calibrated by Klasmeier, you will find a QR code that provides quick and easy access to our digital archive.

Especially practical: In addition to all calibration documents, you will also find the contact details of the relevant Klasmeier contact person there. This way, even in five or more years, you can find the desired information with a click if you have questions about your calibrated product.

Frequently Asked Questions about Block Calibrator Calibration (FAQ):

What information do you need for a quote?

For a quote, we only need your company details. Please also provide the desired calibration points, the model designation, and the serial number of your block calibrator – otherwise, we will prepare the quote based on our standard package.

What happens if my device does not fully meet the technical requirements?

Simply contact us, and together we will find a suitable solution for you!

What do I need to send for calibration?

Please always send the block calibrator together with the inserts used, the temperature sensor, and the appropriate power cable.

Package the device securely for transport. Temperature block calibrators are sensitive devices and should be transported upright.

Can I bring my block calibrator in person?

Yes, you are welcome to drop off your device in person during our goods receiving hours.

Goods Receiving Hours:

Monday to Thursday: 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Friday: 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM

How does return shipping work, and is it insured?

After calibration, we ship your device back via our transport insurance and charge you for the insurance costs.

Alternatively, you can organize the return shipping and insurance yourself.

Is there a simplified calibration for smaller devices or QuickCal?

The scope of calibration is determined independently of the device size or product designation.

Calibration is performed in accordance with the accreditation scope, standard-compliant and traceable.

What happens if an adjustment, controller optimization, or repair is necessary?

As part of the calibration, we document the current condition of your block calibrator. If we find a deviation outside the manufacturer’s specification, we will discuss the further procedure with you.

For ISOTECH devices, this may mean an adjustment of the controller or the display system – we will also coordinate this with you in advance.

We generally only carry out repairs after your approval. Depending on the device, we check whether we can perform the repair in-house.

Will I receive the calibration certificate printed or in English?

The calibration certificate is provided digitally by default.

Upon request, we can also provide you with a printed version of the calibration certificate.
It is also possible to issue it in English. Please contact us if needed.

Which standards and guidelines are relevant for calibration?

Our DAkkS accreditation is based on DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025. The DAkkS-accredited calibration of temperature block calibrators is performed according to DKD-R 5-4.

In the European context, guideline EURAMET Calibration Guide No. 13, known as EURAMET cg-13 or I-CAL-GUI-013, is also used for the calibration of temperature block calibrators. For our accredited calibrations, DKD-R 5-4 is decisive.

The international recognition of accredited results is supported by mutual recognition agreements such as EA MLA (Europe) and ILAC MRA (international).
