The type S thermocouple was specifically developed as a temperature standard for industrial calibrations and temperature measurements. It is made of the same high-quality thermocouple material as the type R\/ type S precision thermocouple<\/a>. However, the design of the type S thermocouple is specially adapted to industrial requirements. For example, the measuring point is made from a smaller thermowell. These small dimensions allow the type S thermocouple to be used as a temperature standard for calibration with block calibrators<\/strong>, for example. As a further adaptation to industrial conditions, an external reference junction can optionally be dispensed with and Type S thermocouple mini plugs can be used instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The thermocouples are supplied as standard with a miniature connector made of Class 1 thermocouple material \u2013 the reference junction is thus located directly at the connector<\/strong>, where the transition from thermocouple material to copper occurs. A separate reference junction is not required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
